London’s award-winning LGBT+ literary salon comes to Norwich as part of a national tour supported by Arts Council England. Hosted by author Paul Burston, Polari showcases the best in established and emerging LGBT+ literary talent. For the rest of the line-up, including poet Sophia Blackwell and V.C. Paul Burston is the critically-acclaimed author of five novels and his last novel The Black Path was longlisted for The Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize 2016 and became a Number One bestseller.
His new psychological thriller The Closer I Get will be published just a couple of days later on 11 July by Orenda Books and is available to pre-order now from all good bookshops and at the event itself.

The Book Hive, our favourite place to find quirky and hard-to-find books, will be at the event to sell copies of books by the authors present, so you can get them signed and personalised at the event! You can also order titles in advance at The Book Hive itself.
Creative Writing Workshop
Tuesday 9 July, 2-4pm (£5) at The Maddermarket Theatre
Paul and Sophia are offering a workshop for writers who want to share their work with an audience.
The two-hour workshop will focus on flash fiction; or how to write a short, short story! Whether you are a writer of fiction, poetry, memoir or non-fiction (or something in between) you are all welcome.At the end of the workshop one writer will be chosen to read at the event that evening.
