Join acclaimed writer Jonathan Harvey (Beautiful Thing) in conversation with our own Writing Champion, writer James McDermott (Rubber Ring).

Jonathan Harvey is the multi-award-winning writer of the play and film Beautiful Thing, the BAFTA-nominated sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme and Beautiful People. He is currently on the writing team for Coronation Street and he has written twenty stage plays and his six novels are published by Pan MacMillan.

In this special event organised by us, Jonathan will discuss his work and his views on LGBTQ life before answering questions from the audience. Following the in conversation, Jonathan and James will sign copies of their books with The Book Hive, the city’s only truly independent bookshop.
