Today’s Black History Month LGBT+ hero is Zavion Michael Davenport (aka Chi Chi DeVayne), nominated by The Workshop in King’s Lynn. They tell us: Zavion, better known by the stage name Chi Chi Devayne, was an American drag queen and reality television personality who came to international attention on RuPaul’s Drag Race. As a child, Chi Chi took classes in ballet, West African and modern dance – making him an amazing dancer. Unfortunately Zavion passed away not too long ago in August, after contracting pneumonia whilst he was in hospital for his scleroderma.
