Happy (belated) International Lesbian Day for yesterday. Today we celebrate a wonderful, inspirational lesbian as part of our Black History Month 31 days, 31 heroes celebrations. Phyll Opoku-Gyimah is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of UK Black Pride. Also known as Lady Phyll, she was nominated by our chair Jo. UK Black Pride is Europe’s largest celebration for African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean-heritage LGBTQ people. Jo says: “I’m nominating Lady Phyll because she has blazed a trail in founding a national organisation to celebrate and support LGBT+ people of colour, and to address ignorance in wider society.” In this little film Lady Phyll talks about why we need a Black Pride:
