Sew Gay

Sew Gay, the queer quilters with a mission to make a beautiful banner for Norwich Pride, invite you to sew yourself into the Pride Parade! The banner will feature a skyline of iconic Norwich buildings and in the foreground we'll have hundreds of people on the Parade. We'd love you to make a mini-me: a 6 inch version of yourself that we'll sew onto the banner. You can sew, knit, cross-stitch, felt or even print your pic onto material - we are open to all ideas. The key thing is we want to capture how gorgeous, colourful and diverse our community is. We hope to take the banner to London Pride on 2nd July and it will lead the Norwich Pride Parade on Saturday 30th July. You can bring your mini-me to the next Sew Gay meeting at the library on Saturday 9th April at 12pm (and we'll have materials so you can make one there) or post it to Shelly Telly @ The Tea Lounge, 141-143 Ber St, Norwich NR1 3EY.

Norwich Pride @ Pride London! We're going to take our beautiful new Norwich Pride banner on the Pride London Parade on Saturday 2nd July! The Parade leaves BBC Broadcasting House at 1pm. Watch this space for more details of trains and meeting-up points. We're not organising an outing as such - it's up to you to get yourself to and from London but we'd love you to march with the Norwich Pride banner and show the world what a creative, enthusiastic bunch of people we are. Breaking news - local hero Stephen Fry is filming a documentary series about Gay Rights around the world and is filming at Pride London. We're talking with the producers about getting an interview with Stephen in front of our banner! It's sew exciting!!
