Sew Gay
... the queer quilters with a mission to make a beautiful banner for Norwich Pride! Sew Gay, the queer quilters with a mission to make a beautiful banner for Norwich Pride, invite you to sew yourself into the Pride Parade! The banner will feature a skyline of iconic Norwich buildings and in the foreground we'll have hundreds of people on the Parade. We'd love you to make a mini-me: a 6 inch version of yourself that we'll sew onto the banner. You can sew, knit, cross-stitch, felt or even print your pic onto material - we are open to all ideas. The key thing is we want to capture how gorgeous, colourful and diverse our community is. We hope to take the banner to London Pride on 2nd July and it will lead the Norwich Pride Parade on Saturday 30th July. You can bring your mini-me to the next Sew Gay meeting at the library on Saturday 9th April at 12pm (and we'll have materials so you can make one there) or post it to Shelly Telly @ The Tea Lounge, 141-143 Ber St, Norwich NR1 3EY. Our Saturday meetings are on: 18 June / 02 July / 16 July Click on the banner picture right to see how the Sew Gay banner is taking shape! Find us from 12-2pm on the big table on the first floor of the Millennium Library in the Forum. Everybody welcome x .
