Dance with Pride at the Miller Dance Centre

Same-sex Ballroom and Latin Dancing at the Miller Dance Centre

Every Friday 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Miller Dance School Ropemakers Row off Drayton road near Wickes.

The same-sex dance lessons at Miller Dance Studio began after the first Norwich Pride in 2009 and are open to people of abilities. On 19th February 2011 same-sex couples from Norwich competed in the international same-sex dance competition Pink Jukebox Trophy in London for the first time. It was an amazing event.

At the classes, we teach the range of Ballroom and Latin dances: Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango and Viennese Waltz in Ballroom, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Paso Doble in Latin. We also do some of the sequence dances that are popular in the Same Sex dance scene in London, such as the Mayfair Quickstep. You don't need a partner, and you can start the classes at any time - there's no "term" or anything like that. There's a practice session afterwards if people want to stay on and plenty of time to get to the pub or club afterwards!

Each class is ?5 for Miller Dance members and ?6.50 for non-members. Membership normally costs ?55 for a year or ?15 a quarter, but at the moment there's a offer of three month's free membership for new dancers.

Miller Dance are on Facebook.
