Save the date! We are going to have a fabulous launch of the 2019 Pride Guide on Friday 28th June – the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

The launch of the Pride Guide will then start a 5 week countdown to the 11th Norwich Pride on Saturday 27th July. We’d like everyone to join with us in organising events to celebrate a different decade in each of the 5 weeks e.g. “Party like it’s 1969” in the first week etc. In this way, we hope to capture the journey of the LGBT+ community from 1969 to 2019. We’re working with the BBC and Archant to run a series of articles on the lives of local LGBT people over the last 50 years and there’s some really exciting stuff going on in the library in the Forum, with an exhibition from the British Museum, complemented by work from local, young curators. So it’s all very exciting!
In order to have the Pride Guide ready to launch on 28th June, we need copy by the end of April at the latest, so we are encouraging venues to organise their events as soon as they can. We want the Pride Guide to be a souvenir edition, filled with stories and archive photos and useful information – something people will want to keep.
Watch this space for more details of our launch – it’s going to be fabulous darling!
